Time for a Trim!

The other day we went to Great Clips and got 4 of our family members haircuts. The hair dressers couldn't believe how many different hair colors we had in one family. It was funny to see all the air swept together: red, blonde, and black.
Avi probably got 3 inches off. It has helped with her hair not being so tangled in the morning.

Anderson got a little buzz around the sides.

Ellie's hair is just crazy! She got a trim on the ends to hopefully make it thicker.

My cool DUDE!

Creative Kid!

My son Anderson has a very creative mind, which gets him into trouble sometimes. A few weeks ago Chevy's parents were in town and Anderson went upstairs. He came downstairs with Kleenex boxes on his hands and feet. He told us all that he was a robot.

It took me a second to figure out where he might have gotten the Kleenex boxes. Then I remembered that in the upstairs closet I had 4 boxes of Kleenexes. He decided to empty them all out and put some in the toilet and some in the garbage.
Here is a picture of all the Kleenexes. At least he tried to clean-up! We all did laugh, because this is something that Anderson would do!

Now I have a pile of Kleenex in my bathroom. Someday we will use it all!

Here is a boat that Anderson made all by himself with tape and paper. Tape is his absolute favorite thing in the whole world! Anderson asked for tape for Christmas.
I thought this boat was really cool. Again we didn't help him at all, but he pictured it in his mind and then created it! Do you see the propeller?
I wonder what he will be when he grows up?

Ski Weekend

This time of year is extremely busy for Chevy and me! Chevy starts his tax season and well I'm just juggling the kids and school. My parents offered to take the kids for the night and we were able to have a get away! Chevy and I both enjoy skiing, so we decided to make a trip with our dear friends the McMahons, who also enjoy skiing. Well, actually Kelli loves skiing!

We started the weekend by stopping at Sport Authority. Josh wanted to get a new coat before we left, which he had already gotten last year! HA! I think he likes new things!
When we got to Gurnee Mills I realized I forgot a hat. So, we all went in to the store!
After Josh got a new coat and I got a new hat we went to Ruby Tuesday, which I love. I just love their salad bar.
We then headed to the hotel in Wisconsin and got the hot tub in and slept into 8:00 am, which we don't get to do very often. Then we headed to Devil's Head to ski.
Here is my new hat!

Kelli and I excited about skiing!

This is Josh with his new coat! One of the coats is $150.00 and one is $15.00. Can you tell me which is which?

Here are some silly pictures of us on our way home from Wisconsin. We had an adventurous trip by almost hitting a deer. Josh almost drove away with the gas hose.

Super Bowl!

Okay, the Super Bowl was almost a month ago, but I wanted to share some pictures from our annual party. Chevy and I have thrown a Super Bowl party for the last 12 years in a row. Our first was when we were in college and we first started dating. Almost every year we have had the celebration at my parent's house. One year we did have it at our house, but now with all the kiddos we moved it back to my parent's house. Most of you know they just have a great party house! Thanks Mom and Dad for opening up your house!
The year Avi and Anderson were born we decided not to have the party that year, but when the Bear's were in the Super Bowl we just had to! Unfortunately, they lost, but it was fun to watch!

The half time show the Black Eye Peas! They were pretty cool!

I think we are all watching the commercials, which is my favorite part!

Elizabeth made these adorable football brownies!

Kelli and her husband made this YUMMY cheese dip!

Barclay made a sweet ice cream cake!

Jill and her daughter.

Vince won four squares and won this coffee cup.

Here are all the men!

And all the ladies, except Andrea is not in the pic with her daughter Kelsey, because of bedtime!

Preschool Activities

Life has been busy as of late and I'm sorry that the posts seem to be less. Last week I took pictures of the doing projects. I try to do some sort of project or educational thing with the kids each day. It is definitely the teacher in me. I must be honest that not everyday I'm able to do this, but I do try, especially with the 4 year olds.
Here is our first project. We used shaving cream and I asked the kids to get messy and make their letters and make pictures! They had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting messy. It was an easy clean up with the trays.

For Christmas, Nana got the kids foam letters. I asked the 4 year olds to find and spell their names. They then glued them on paper.

I laminated a game where they need to match the upper case letters with the lower case letter
